Book club based in Bradenton, FL with a focus on mutual aid and direct action within the community.

I started book club to better understand & defend my positions as a leftist, and also to discuss building a better world with others. The response was far beyond what I expected, and people overwhelmingly wanted to get involved! The idea behind making this website is to help anyone who thinks they might want to start a similar book club in their area, and also to direct people who want to help us here.

Right now, we are raising funds to distribute care packages and backpacks to the local homeless population. Our local shelters are unable to meet the needs of those seeking services, and we want to help fill in the gaps.

Purchasing these bags in bulk keeps the rate low, so for about $120, we can get 12 backpacks each containing a small hygiene kit. We are also working to find out ways to distribute food and other resources within the community, as well as assist those displaced by ICE.
